About Laurel Field Co.

About Us

We’re Matt and Cali, the hands and hearts behind Laurel Field Co.

Together, we’ve always felt most alive in wild places—walking Appalachian trails, planting gardens that hum with pollinators, and dreaming of a world where the land is healthy and full of life again. It was in the old-growth forests of the Smoky Mountains where Matt proposed to Cali, under a canopy so ancient it felt like time stood still. That quiet grove became the seed for everything we’re building now.

Laurel Field Co. was born from our love for each other and our shared love for the natural world.

Cali is studying Conservation Biology and Ecology, driven by a deep desire to protect and restore the ecosystems that shaped her. Matt has spent years learning the land hands-on, working the soil, and honoring Appalachian traditions of craftsmanship and stewardship. Together, we combine science and soul to create spaces that heal—both for the people who live there and the wildlife that calls it home.

We believe every yard, field, and forgotten corner can do more. It can feed the bees and birds. It can repair tired soil. It can remind us that we’re part of something bigger. Whether it’s planting a single pollinator garden or restoring a native meadow, we design every space with intention and care.

Laurel Field Co. carries the name of Matt’s grandfather, Laurel Glenn Dunn—a man whose quiet strength and love of the land still guide us today. It’s our way of honoring the past while restoring the future, one garden at a time.
